Stress to Empowerment

Stress can absolutely paralyze a person. It can also make a person do things they never would do normally. Risky behaviors, violence, and self abuse are more likely to occur when a person is stressed.

Stress can be remedied with this protocol from MELIFELOVE:

  1. Awareness

  2. Defusion

  3. Resolution

Reset the Nervous System to clear stress.

Once you are aware you are stressed, one easy defusion technique is to hold your breath. Holding your breath resets the nervous system. It doesn't matter if you hold your breath in or out. Hold it until you feel a strong urge to breathe. Release the hold gently before it causes further stress or harm. Continue taking slow and controlled breaths. Repeat if necessary.
